Three people were killed in the south of France on Thursday when a gunman opened fire apparently at random in the southern town of Istres. Police have arrested 12 people and seized a quantity of air guns suspected of being illegally modified on Wednesday as part of a crackdown on illegal firearms and ammunition in Hong Kong. The number of firearms seized by police from motorcycle gangs classed as criminal groups has risen sharply over the past few years.
