Colorado Court Win Reinstates City Gun Laws

The city can continue to regulate assault weapons, "Saturday night specials" and the open carrying of guns despite two state laws to the contrary, a Denver judge ruled late Friday.
Denver District Judge Joseph Meyer III said that since Denver is a home-rule city, Denver ordinances on these matters are not subject to the laws passed by the legislature in 2003.
Meyer's ruling came in a Denver lawsuit filed against the state and Gov. Bill Owens.

Parishioners Support Sacked Gun Toting Priest

Churchgoers in a central Mexican town have been enraged by the sacking of their Roman Catholic priest, known for tucking a shiny pistol under his robe.
They chained shut the Chucandiro church to demand the reinstatement of Father Alfredo Gallegos, who has earned the nickname "Padre Pistolas".
No reason has been given for sacking the priest, also noted for his love of cowboy boots and country music.
