The leader of Laskar Merah Putih (Red and White Troop) urged the Jakarta Police on Wednesday to tighten their control of gun ownership by private citizens.
Eddy Hartawan, whose group is often spotted at rallies in support of state officials accused of involvement in corruption, said several of the group's members were threatened at gunpoint on Monday by a businessman.

KUALA LUMPUR — Two policemen have been arrested after a Steyr semi-automatic pistol was reported missing from the armoury of the general operations force (GOF) central brigade in Cheras here.
The weapon was in the armoury of the newly-formed Battalion 19, which has been tasked to provide 24-hour patrols to protect diplomats and ensure round-the-clock patrols at foreign missions in the country.
