President Backs Gun Registration: Irate Clinton Says Hill Support Lacking

President Clinton said yesterday that Americans should be required to register guns as they do cars, waving a red flag in front of gun owner advocates who long have argued that registration could be a step toward new restrictions, even confiscation.

Gun Dealers on Defensive at Show where Columbine Weapons Were Sold

DENVER, Colorado — Less than two months after the deadly shootings at Columbine High School, a gun show that was the source of all four firearms used in the rampage was held again on Saturday.
J.D. Tanner, organizer of the Tanner Gun Show, said the weapons sold at his show are not the cause of the violence like the April 20 attack by Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. The two students killed 13 and then took their own lives.

Twelve More US Municipalities to Sue Gun Makers

WASHINGTON — At least 12 more municipalities are planning to sue gun makers this year and the first class action against the firearms industry is expected to be filed in the next few months, lawyers said Saturday.
Their comments were made at a major gun litigation conference sponsored by the American Bar Association with participants from the gun and insurance industries, city and county governments as well as the personal injury bar.
