Community policing doesn't have to be fancy. A gun buyback program run by the Detroit Police Department's 7th Precinct showed how community policing and partnerships can create a safer city. More than 50 guns were turned in at the precinct Saturday, no questions asked. They were exchanged for certificates worth $50 in gas and groceries.
