CALGARY — The Calgary Police Service made numerous changes to its firearms safety policy after a police officer was shot and killed by a colleague during a training exercise, a fatality inquiry heard Tuesday. The new policy states that all police officers must have their guns checked three times during training exercises to ensure the weapons aren't loaded.
