Police had a strong response to a gun amnesty held at Granton at the weekend. Detective Acting Inspector Craig Joel said that after the recent wave of gun theft in the state, Tasmania Police would have been content with a single unwanted firearm being handed in, but they were overwhelmed by the success of the mobile amnesty.
