Turkish Official Warns Against MPs Carrying Guns in Govt as Tensions Rise

Parliament's Administrative President Malik Ecder Özdemir has warned deputies against carrying guns while inside the general assembly hall, noting that this is a violation of Parliament's bylaws.
Özdemir, a Republican People's Party (CHP) deputy, said "Guns can be pulled out at any time in Parliament, and party leaders are in danger." His warning comes at a time when tension is high in Turkey following mass anti-government protests that took place in May.
