Deleting Canada Gun Registry Files a Massive, Costly Job, Expert Says

OTTAWA — The RCMP is refusing to say how much it will cost to destroy all copies of the federal long-gun registry as required by the Conservative government's proposed law shutting down the contentious database.
The bill to end the requirement to register long guns introduced this week requires that the Commissioner of Firearms "shall ensure the destruction as soon as feasible of all records" in the registry of non-restricted firearms.
