Detroit Gun Buyback Nets 329 Firearms, 11 Assault Rifles for Destruction

DETROIT — Police received more than 300 guns this week during a buyback program that has officials planning another one for next year.
Officials didn't have a date for 2011 but were happy with the 329 guns obtained through the program Thursday, Detroit Police Sgt. Eren Stephens said.
Eleven of the guns were assault weapons and one was high-powered, Stephens said.
