10,500 Guns Surrendered to Queensland Police in Handgun Buyback

More than 10,500 firearms, including pump-action shot guns and automatic rifles, have been surrendered or registered under a six month gun amnesty in Queensland.
Police Minister Judy Spence told parliament today the amnesty, which ran from July to December last year, was a success with 2,835 firearms handed in to police and a further 7,704 firearms and accessories registered with authorities.
