Planning Minister Would Support Ban on Gun Shops Near Australian Schools

The NSW government says it will support any local government that moves to outlaw gun shops being opened in the vicinity of schools.
But after residents of a Sydney suburb on Wednesday made known their anger at plans for a sporting gun shop opposite a pre-school, Planning Minister Frank Sartor ruled out a statewide ban, saying it remained a local council issue.
