Ministers yesterday hailed a fall in the number of homicides in Scotland to its lowest level for 15 years. Figures out yesterday showed that in the year to April, there were 93 killings — a drop from 134 on the year before. There has also been a significant fall in the number of homicides involving knives and the number killed or injured by firearms dropped by almost 40%.
