Wal-Mart has agreed to settle two lawsuits brought after it sold a man under a restraining order the shotgun he used days later to kill his wife and brother-in-law. Attorneys in the case would not disclose the settlement amounts Friday because of a confidentiality agreement. The suits, when filed in federal court in 1998, demanded $9 million per death.
