Recurring technical and bureaucratic slippages have further delayed till the end of the year the supply of around 3,000 Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) 5.56-mm Tavor 21 assault rifles (TAR-21) with 40-mm under slung grenade launchers to India's Special Forces (SF) or para-commandos though almost four years have elapsed since the contract was signed. The $20-million deal for the TAR 21s including ammunition, was signed in late 2002 with Israel Military Industries (IMI).... (
