In the summer of 1994, Toronto police Const. Todd Baylis was murdered with a handgun stolen from an Etobicoke widow who had inherited the World War II relic from her husband.
Two years later, 14-year-old Jasmine Vanscoy of St. Catharines met a similar fate at the hands of a 17-year-old boy who shot her in the head with a handgun he had stolen from his stepfather.
