Global Groups Launch Gun Control Campaign in West Africa

BAMAKO — Three non-governmental organisations — Oxfam International, Amnesty International and International Action Network against Small Arms (IANSA) — Thursday launched the 2006 Arms Control campaign in Bamako, Mali.
According to Valery Traore of Oxfam USA, the campaign was aimed at putting an end to a flourishing illegal arms trade in the world and to encourage governments to sign a treaty on the arms trade.
