The Ontario government is hiring more prosecutors and giving $5 million to the Toronto Police guns and gangs unit to help curb firearms violence, Premier Dalton McGuinty announced Thursday. The money is part of a $51-million package unveiled by McGuinty one day after a meeting on gun violence in the city attended by federal, provincial and municipal officials.
