CHRISTCHURCH — The shooting of an Ashburton policeman and the start of the duck-shooting season have prompted Christchurch police to crack down on people with invalid gun licences. Senior Sergeant Derek Erasmus said between 5000 and 10,000 Canterbury people had not renewed their 10-year licences despite a nationwide campaign during the past five years.
