WASHINGTON — The House has voted narrowly to urge House-Senate negotiators to meet within two weeks to consider long-stalled gun controlled legislation. The Senate voted last year to institute 72-hour background checks on gun show sales, but the House rejected that provision in favor of a 24-hour wait and gun control has been on the back burner since then.
