State Right to Bear Arms in Nevada
The Constitution of the State of Nevada, Article 1, § 11(1) provides that "[e]very citizen has the right to keep and bear arms for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and for other lawful purposes."
There are no cases interpreting Article 1, § 11(1). The Supreme Court of Nevada has held, however, in a case interpreting the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, that "the authority to regulate weapons comes from a state's police powers."
