- Hasta el año 2006 inclusive era destruidas todas las armas, conforme a lo establecido por la Ley 16.145 de 9 de octubre de 1990. De acuerdo con dicha Ley, las armas permanecían en Depósito Judicial por un plaza de 6 años, a espera de una resolución final por parte del Poder Judicial…A partir de 5 de enero de 2007 se aprueba la Ley 18.087 que derogó la Ley 16.145, y estableció el plazo de depósito en tres anos.

- El 3 de agosto de 2009 se destruyeron por fundición, en acto publico, con la presencia de autoridades nacionales y medias de prensa, 2352 armas de fuego.

Subject to the exceptions set out in paragraph 11.16 of the UN Programme of Action, are all the small arms and light weapons which have been confiscated, seized or collected destroyed?

- As established by Law 16,145 of October 9, 1990, until 2006, all weapons were destroyed. Under that law, weapons remained in the judicial depot for a period of six years, pending a final resolution by the judiciary… From January 5, 2007, Law 18.087 was approved and it repealed Law 16.145, which established a depot term of three years.

- On August 3, 2009, in a public ceremony 2,352 guns were destroyed by melting in the presence of national authorities and the media.
