A2. The stockpiling and possession of SALW are covered by various sections of the Firearms Act.
Importers and dealers must be licensed to operate legally.
Private owners must obtain a license from the Ministry of Home Affairs before acquiring a firearm.
Ownership of firearm by individuals is being recorded on the basis of its adequate numbering/marking.
Specific penal sanctions are included in the Firearms Act.
Any movement of military goods across, transit out of Zambian customs area requires clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
There are no specific measures relating to marking in such cases.
