Article 9

Approval for procurement of arms is issued to a natural person on the basis of a previously filed request by him for obtaining of an approval for procurement of arms, provided that the natural person fulfils the following conditions:
1. He is at least 18 years old;
2. His work ability has not been taken away or limited;
3. He is capable of possessing and carrying arms from a health point of view;
4. He is not considered a danger for the public order;
5. He has a justified reason for procurement of arms;
6. He has technical knowledge about proper use, keeping and maintaining of arms, and knowledge of the regulations on arms;
7. He has place of residence on the territory of the Republic of Macedonia, and if a foreigner, he should have an approved permanent stay on the territory of the Republic of Macedonia, unless otherwise regulated by an international treaty.

An approval for procurement of arms can not be issued to a natural person that stays abroad for more than 3 months.

An approval for procurement of hunting arms shall be issued to a natural person that is required, in addition to fulfilling the conditions under Paragraph 1 of this article, to be an active member of a hunters' association and to have passed a hunting exam.
