JACKSONVILLE, Florida — Police say Donna Mills was asleep in her apartment when a stray bullet tore through her window, ending her life.
Jacksonville Sheriff's Officers came to the Preserve at Cedar River Apartments on the Westside around 3 a.m. Saturday, December 15 to check out reports of gunshots.
An officer spotted bullet holes in a wall and a window. Inside that apartment, 29-year-old Donna Mills lay dead. Police say she'd been asleep when it happened.

In June, her 12-year-old half-sister Rahjeen Mitchell was shot in the head as she stood outside her home.
Victoria prayed and hoped as Rahjeen made a miraculous recovery.
