Internal Security minister George Saitoti and his permanent secretary Francis Kimemia were in their element when they oversaw the burning of 2,500 small arms at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi recently. Constable Wayne Scheepers seemed to be the model policeman. But this weekend, Scheepers allegedly shot his 34-year old wife, Antonet, before turning the gun on himself in the couple's Paarl home. Their 16-year old son and five-year old daughter were staying with Antonet Scheepers' family when the shooting happened on Saturday night.
