Had it gone as allegedly planned, Gilbert and Chandler would have been thrust into the national spotlight with alarm bells ringing. The assault-weapons ban controversy and memories of the Columbine tragedy would have taken center stage as the American media converged on the southeast Valley. Un 10,6 % del total de armas requisadas entre el 1 de enero y el 31 de octubre fueron a menores de 18 años, según datos de Carabineros. La cifra corresponde a 339 artefactos de un total de 3.175 incautados durante operativos efectuados a lo largo del país.
