Juvenile Crime Gun Bill OK'd by State Senate

TRENTON, New Jersey — A juvenile crime may soon be enough to keep an adult from owning a gun.
The Senate on Monday approved a bill that would make it illegal for people who committed a crime with a gun before they turned 18 to get a state permit to buy a firearm. The 37-0 vote sends the bill to Governor Whitman.
Bill sponsor Assemblyman James W. Holzapfel, R-Ocean, said juvenile actions should follow a person into adulthood.
