Shooting Prompts Black Officers to Urge Toy Gun Ban Enforcement

NEW YORK — The city needs to enforce its ban on toy guns that look like the real thing before another child is shot by police, 100 Blacks in Law Enforcement said Tuesday.
Sgt. Eric Adams, a founder of the group, said that realistic-looking toy guns are for sale in city stores — despite a 1989 ban against them.
"We need to go into these stores, pull these guns off the shelves and prosecute those individuals that are responsible," Adams said.

The European Commission of Human Rights has rejected an attempt by nearly two thousand British handgun enthusiasts to overturn last year's decision to outlaw the possession and use of small arms.
