Gun-control lobbyists are losing patience with Government dawdling over firearms controls.
They warn that if there is another massacre, public attitudes will harden. And this will force even tougher controls than those proposed last year by the former High Court judge Justice Sir Thomas Thorp which are still awaiting action
His December deadline for setting up an independent firearms authority has already passed, and that recommendation is likely to be ditched.
