The Police Minister, Michael Costa, will consider a gun buy-back scheme in which firearm dealers would buy unregistered weapons from their illegitimate owners. The NSW Firearm Dealers Association yesterday made the proposal, which has previously been suggested by other groups, claiming that owners of unregistered firearms might be more comfortable presenting them to a dealer than police.
