Spielberg Removes Guns from ET

Acclaimed director STEVEN SPIELBERG has forked out $100,000 (GBP71,000) to sanitise soon to be re-released classic ET — by removing guns from the hands of FBI agents in the movie.
The hit '80s flick, which is set to mesmerise eager audiences once more with a cinematic return this spring (02), features a gun scene when agents from America's FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION (FBI) surround ET's spaceship close to the end of the film.
