LAKE FAUSSE POINTE, Louisiana — After treating nine eagles for gunshot wounds in 14 months, LSU veterinarians say humans are threatening the birds ability to breed. Louisiana has an estimated 151 eagles, so nine is a sizable percentage, said Mark Mitchell, assistant professor of zoological medicine at LSU.
