It was a routine call that went terribly wrong. Allen County Sheriff's Deputy Eryk Heck was investigating a robbery when he was shot to death outside a Fort Wayne house. Timothy Stoffer, already a convicted felon, wasn't even supposed to have a gun. But he found one anyway, in an armchair in his parents house. After a brief gunbattle, both men were dead.
