NEW ORLEANS — A New Orleans foundation spent more than twice what it expected in a gun drive aimed at reducing the number of firearms in the city. At least 190 people turned over their weapons for $50 apiece from the Velocity Foundation, which spent $9,500 Saturday for guns it will turn over to police to be destroyed.
