South Africa Police Net 40 Illegal Weapons in KwaZulu-Natal Anti-crime Blitz

NEWCASTLE — Police and soldiers are continuing an anti-crime sweep in northern KwaZulu-Natal that began last week, and have so far confiscated one machine gun and 39 other illegal weapons, African Eye News Service (South Africa) reports.
The operation began in the Tugela Ferry and Pomeroy areas last Thursday, and on Tuesday it was being extended to include Helpmekaar and Ekuvukeni.
