Gun Amnesty Triggers Mixed Results in Western Australia

Police say the initial results of a state-wide gun amnesty reveal 500 people in regional Western Australia surrendered unlicensed firearms to authorities.
During the three-month firearms amnesty, which finished last month, more than 1,200 unlicensed firearms were collected from across the state.
The highest surrender rate within the state's seven regions was in the south-west, with 164, and the lowest was in the Pilbara at 30.
