Firearms a Big Threat in Nepalese Valley, Police Operations Target Smugglers

KATHMANDU - Small arms and light weapons are posing a big threat to public security in Kathmandu Valley.
Cases of the past four days show how smuggling and illegal trade of firearms continues unabated in the Valley resulting in a surge of various criminal activities.
A 21-year-old was caught with a pistol and three rounds of bullets from Chabahil yesterday. The boy and his friends used to threaten and extort money from local vegetable and fruit shops, said police.... (GunPolicy.org)
