Official Tasmanian Ammunition Review Shows Gaps in Records

Tasmania Police needs to tighten controls on the disposal of guns and ammunition forfeited voluntarily or seized from criminals, an independent audit has recommended.
The state's Auditor General has reviewed the process used to get rid of more than 1000 firearms each year and found gaps in records of the amount of ammunition held.
