Early Stands on Gun Bills Portend Legislative Battles

SALEM — The Oregon Legislature, which once routinely holstered gun-control legislation, could find itself in a bruising fight over the regulation of firearms for the second session in a row.
Sen. Ginny Burdick, D-Portland, who sponsored November's successful ballot measure to tighten regulation of gun shows, said she will push this year for a law to prevent persons with concealed handgun licenses from taking their guns into schools.
