MAPUTO — The Sofala Provincial Court in central Mozambique on Monday sentenced two policemen to 12 year jail terms for hiring out police firearms to criminals. The two policemen were Celestino Cacaue and Lazaro Saene. The latter will not be serving his jail sentence because he was shot dead last Thursday while trying to escape from Beira central prison.
