Australian Gun Club Blames Fatal Shooting on Police, Loses Licence
16 July 2012
Sydney Morning Herald
The Sydney Pistol Club, from which a mentally ill woman took a pistol she used to kill her father, has failed to have its sport shooting licence reinstated amid concerns it has not acknowledged responsibility for its role in the incident.
The club had instead unfairly tried to shift responsibility to the Firearms Registry, the Administrative Decisions Tribunal found. The tribunal could not be satisfied the club would ensure the safety of its firearms.
