If the Legislature opposes government dictating health care, why did a Senate committee just pass a bill that would forbid doctors from asking patients a lifesaving health question? Because that health question has to do with guns. The Senate Criminal Justice Committee on Tuesday approved SB 432, which would fine doctors for asking whether a patient owns a gun - $10,000 for a first offense, $25,000 for a second and $100,000 for a third.
