Teen Hunter Shoots, Kills His Friend, 16, Out Hunting Rabbits in Victoria

A 16-year-old boy has been shot dead in a hunting accident in northeastern Victoria.
Police say the boy had been hunting rabbits with a friend in a paddock in Merriang, near Wangaratta.
The two boys were tracking one rabbit with telescopic sights on their guns when one boy fired a shot about 6.45pm (AEDT) on Monday.
The bullet struck the second boy in the back of the head, police say, as he was a short distance in front and to the side.
