A 16-year-old boy has been shot dead in a hunting accident in northeastern Victoria. Police say the boy had been hunting rabbits with a friend in a paddock in Merriang, near Wangaratta. The two boys were tracking one rabbit with telescopic sights on their guns when one boy fired a shot about 6.45pm (AEDT) on Monday.
