Michigan Dad Works on His Handgun, Shoots, Injures 12yr-old Daughter

MACOMB TOWNSHIP, Michigan — Macomb County Sheriff officials say a 12-year-old girl has been treated and released from a hospital after apparently being accidentally shot by her father.
Captain Tony Wickersham tells The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press the 40-year-old man was working on his recently purchased handgun about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, when he pulled the trigger, thinking it was unloaded.
