ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Non-violent ex-felons may soon be able to own and carry firearms in Alaska.
Saturday afternoon, the State House unanimously passed a bill to restore gun rights for some non-violent felons.
Under current state law, anyone convicted of a felony has to 10 years to legally own certain types of guns.
For example after a decade, ex-felons can get rifles but not handguns. They are also prohibited from carrying a concealed weapon.
