Two out of five city police officers will be excluded from firearms training in the latest move to cut costs, despite armed police being called upon more than ever.
The Police Association says the money-saving plans that will result in some frontline officers being unable to use a firearm will put staff and public lives at risk as police deal with increasing violence.
