As a former policeman, Brad Shipton should have known better. That was the conclusion reached yesterday by Judge Michael Hobbs when he convicted Shipton, 46, for illegally possessing a firearm. Judge Hobbs said Shipton, as a former policeman and armed offenders squad member, "knew perfectly well he was in breach of the Arms Act" by keeping the gun in his home.
