Suspect in US Soldier's Slaying Tried to Sell Illegal Guns in Tennessee

KNOXVILLE — A Muslim convert who allegedly shot two soldiers outside a U.S. Army recruiting center in Little Rock, Ark., was arrested in Knoxville in 2004 after he was busted with an ounce of marijuana and a cache of high-powered firearms that he planned to sell.
Although simply possessing one of the weapons — a sawed-off shotgun — is a felony offense, Abdulhakim Muhammad escaped without a criminal record, court documents show.
