Since the beginning of the year, the country's largest publicly traded gunmakers have seen their shares take incredible upward trajectories, thanks to a rush of post-election fear mongering. The stock of Smith & Wesson, the 157-year-old gunmaker, has nearly tripled, from $2 to more than $6 before trading Monday, while stock of Sturm, Ruger & Co., maker of the "Ruger," has doubled, from just over $6 to $12.35 in the same six-month period.
